Minister of Local Government Presents 100 Bags of Cement
MLGRD8/3/19 The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), Hajia Alima Mahama (MP), has presented 100 bags of cement to the traditional authorities of Kwahu North Afram Plains District.
The gesture was in response to an earlier request by the Chief of Donkorkrom, Nana Akuamoah Boateng Tanor, who during a working tour of the Kwahu North Afram Plains District’ paid a visit to the Chief.
During the meeting, Nana Akuamoah Boateng Tanor, made a passionate appeal to the Minister for assistance from government to help complete a Palace which due to lack of funds to finance the project had stalled.
Presenting the 100 bags of cement on behalf of Hajia Alima Mahama, to the Queen mother of Attakora, Nana Henma Serwah, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Kena advised the Chiefs not to pilfer the cement but use it for the purpose it was donated. This he said will motivate the Minister and others to assist.
The DCE pointed out that government had placed a lot of importance to the development of the Afram Plains and that was the reason why the President Akufo Addo, Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, Minister for MLGRD, Hajia Alima Mahama (MP) had visited the Afram Plains within a spate of three months to acquaint themselves with issues confronting them.
Receiving the items, the Queen mother, Nana Henma Serwah, who represented the Chief of Donkorkrom, thanked government and the Minister of MLGRD for the kind gesture and said the cement would be put to good use. He also appealed to government for more assistance to help complete the project.
