The 2025 Civil Service Policy Fair and Exhibition officially opened in Accra today, with a renewed emphasis on professionalism, responsiveness, and citizen centered service delivery across the public sector.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, the Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, called for a transformation of public service culture to meet the rising expectations of Ghanaians. He noted that platforms such as the Policy Fair are instrumental in reaffirming the Civil Service’s commitment to delivering timely, relevant, and people-focused services.

Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh underscored the growing relevance of digitization and cross-sectoral collaboration in delivering results. He pointed to ongoing public service innovations such as online passport services, NHIS registration and renewal, and digital land services all showcased at the Fair as examples of reforms that directly respond to citizens’ needs.

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), together with its allied agencies and institutions, was well represented at the exhibition. The Ministry’s stand highlighted key interventions in local governance, spatial planning, sanitation, and the decentralisation agenda affirming its central role in promoting inclusive development and accountable governance.

Also present at the event was Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director-General of the National Sports Authority, who lauded the fair as a practical platform for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies  to connect with the public and demonstrate their impact. He stressed the importance of inter-institutional coordination in bridging service delivery gaps and building public trust.

Dignitaries including Mrs. Eunice Osae, Chief Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Ampofo Ankrah, and other senior officials toured the exhibition stands, engaging directly with staff and the public on policy implementation and service offerings.

Running throughout the week, the 2025 Policy Fair and Exhibition provides a space for dialogue, feedback, and learning. It remains a critical tool for showcasing public sector innovation, promoting transparency, and strengthening the relationship between citizens and the institutions that serve them.
